- I recently posted some helpful information on the site below. There are a number of tactics that you can take, but it really depends on your own unique situation.
- Check out the finance forum at http://www.fatwallet.com/ Also, check out pfblogs.org for links to dozens of personal finance blogs.
- Wish I knew more of the story - I might be able to give you some advice. The most important thing to do is to establish GOOD credit. If you can get a credit card (secured, where you put money down) then use it a little - pay it off each month. This will help you to start establishing your good credit. Another thing you should know is that if you start paying off old debt, it becomes "new" again - it will be on your credit report for another 7 years, which means your potential creditors will see the good, the bad and the ugly when you open that can of worms. Just be prepared for that! Two years may seem like a long time, but it really isn't. You should be able to make some major repairs in that time! Good luck, if you would like to discuss anything else, please feel free to contact me. Or, check with a mortgage lender in your area, they may have some good advice for you!
- I used to own and run a company, Credit Renew, to be honest, Credit Repair, companies, books, etc, have a "black eye", so to speak...as the laws are always changing,..the best advice, and the most current information...that you can find , where they are not looking for somethung in exchange, is right on the credit bureaus websites... Transunion.com, Experian.com and Equifax.com ...there is soooo much info there for you on all of the above for you to gain enough knowledge to be well on your way to a healthy future regarding your credit, and avoiding any future mistakes.. I went from a low credit score (lower 500's to the mid 600's in 1 year) , my best advice to you, is do not apply for too much credit in a short amount of time;..try not to check your credit more than once every 1-3 months (even though they are considered "soft" inquiries, and continue to pay your credit cards bills on time) ...If you do not have any credit cards..here are some companies that will give you one... CapitalOne.com FirstPremier.com OrchardBank.com (secured) Please remember, patience is a virtue, and establishing good credit takes a few years....this is something Ive had to remember myself... I hope that Ive been of some help to you, but please save yourself some money by not buying any books, everything you need is the most up to date, legal , and best information right here in front of you! Best of luck!
- Absolutely! I used this book last year, and my credit score went up on all three bureaus by at least 100 pts! That's no joke. It addresses basically every credit problem there is, and how we can fix them. I did a quick search and found the website again at: http://7freedom16.niesong.hop.clickbank.net The company is called Consumer Publishers Hope this helps. Let me know!
- Try the one below, it has information on the Statute Of Limitations law, repairing credit, obtaining credit with bad credit, credit repair companies, debt consolidation and collection rights. It is free too.
