How much does a credit repair company cost?
I'm looking to buy a house in the next year and i'm considering hiring a credit repair co. to help fix my credit and raise my score. my score is a 594 last time i checked and i have a txu energy bill of $1370 that's been reported as a charge off and i have a 60 days past on my credit card back in '06. About how much would a credit repair company charge to help me?

- Credit Repair companies are a rip-off. The only way you can "repair" your credit is by paying off past due debts and paying all current bills on time......You can probably still buy a house anyhow, but the interest will by higher.
- there is no such thing. Certainly, there are people who will gladly take your money and claim to do things. Do'nt buy a house! How do you expect to pay for a house when you can't pay a credit card? Only idiots leave a balance on their credit cards. Get your life together and report back here when you're done.
- Go to Consumer Credit Counseling Service which is free to you and supported by creditor donations. You can get assistance in fixing your credit and not get ripped off.
