How to Repair Bad Credit?

Bad credit could keep you from securing the loans from lenders you need for large purchases, such as a home or new vehicle.so what are the ways to repair it

  1. Start by getting a copy of your credit report and finding out how bad it is. Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com to get it. Dispute all negative items. See the first link below to get instructions on doing this. This will remove some (not all) of the negative items. Try to negotiate a payment plan on the rest, in exchange for them deleting the negative information. Find out exactly what your credit score consists of by visiting http://www.myfico.com and looking through their educational information. By knowing why it's bad, you can target your efforts on the negative items. Understand that credit repair will NOT happen in a couple of months, and may take several. If you are looking at making a major credit purchase soon you may be out of luck.
  2. If you have lots of time and are very patient, try it yourself. Otherwise, I recommend letting professionals do the legwork for you.
