  1. Be cautious when dealing with them. Some of them are very helpful, but most of them are just scams.
  2. Basically what the credit repair companies do is dispute things on your credit report over and over agian hopeing for them to make a mistake and clear it from your credit. The credit companies have 60 days to solve the dispute, if its not solved, then they have to remove it from your credit report. But I wouldnt deal with those companies. I would talk to a debt conslidator if you need to. Good luck
  3. Again, my fellow Bronco fan is correct. These people just go through the dispute/validation process in an attempt to get negative items removed. Nothing you can't do yourself. Below are a couple links, they show the process and how you can do it yourself. http://www.creditinfocenter.com/repair/ http://creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml http://creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation_workflow.shtml
  4. Do you have copies of your credit reports and know what is in them? I've found some good information here too... http://debt.knowledged.info/credit_card.html Hope it all works out
