  1. try your phone book and locate 4c's they have a reputation for being one of the better ones..... However, the things that they do for you, you can do for yourself for free. if you go with them or any other repair company, you will pay for those services and I hear they are not cheap. If they charge you 1k, that is money you could use to pay down your debt. Try to go it alone first also go to www.ripoffreport.com and search for any agencies that you are considering so that you can see what other people's experiences have been with them so that you can make an informed decision. Best of luck to you
  2. Unfortunately, the best way to repair your credit is to do it yourself. It takes a lot of patience and work, but it's possible if you put the time in. Go check out http://www.creditboards.com/forums/ . This is a great community with the resources to help raise your scores quickly. Spend a lot of time reading before you do anything. Good luck!
  3. No, I do not know of ANY credit repair companies that don't end up screwing you over in the process. HOWEVER, I do know how to repair your own credit for free, and how it can be done in 30 days. It's simple, and only costs you the price of your credit reports. Check out the first article below to see how. The second article tells you how to strengthen your score whether you clean your credit report or not. The third article tells you how to deal with collectors and collection agencies in order to settle for as little as 30% of what you owe...this really works. Imagine how great it would be to only pay $300 for every $1,000 you owe, and never have to pay that debt again. Try the advice in all three articles, and you will have your score up in no time. Hope this helps.
  4. There are some terrible scams out there, so investigate whoever you use. I have heard that the not-for-profit ones are sometimes better. I've found some good information here too... http://debt.123thebest.info/credit_card.html All the best to you.
