Credit Repair

Credit Repair....?

Whats the best way to go about repairing credit? I'd like to try a place that will combine into one monthly payment.... is this possible? Also, when it comes to credit, how much does a 25,000 school loan debt affect the rating?

  1. Credit repair can only be achieved through financial discipline and hard work. Any easy way out of a poor credit history is undoubtedly tempting, but it may lead to further financial difficulties in the future. If a poor credit history is due to circumstances beyond<!--consumer's control, and they are able to somewhat make amends to their credit records after that time, then a creditor can be requested to upgrade credit rating because of a sense of customer loyalty. http://best-loans.awardspace.com/repaircredit.htm http://credit-cards.awardspace.com/ Most creditors don't trust the customers defaulting on their debts, so it may be very difficult to obtain new credit. But once a person is able to demonstrate continuing income stability and prompt-->payment patterns, his situation can improve in a period of two to three years. This way, even in the case of bankruptcy, a consumer is likely to be offered charge and credit cards within a year or two if maintaining a steady income.
  2. If your loan is deffered it doesn't count at all. You can check out this website and see if this helps for you... http://www.lexingtonlaw.com/ Good luck
  3. Credit repair companies will promise a lot of things. Not all of them are helpful. Most of the time you can do what they do on your own by communicating with companies on your own. Get a copy of your credit report free at www. annualcreditreport.com and go from there. Beware, if you go with a "credit repair" company, research them first thoroughly! Unpaid student loans depending on the length of time with no activity and weather or not they are default or charged off can have a big impact on your credit almost as much as a bankruptcy at that amount. Good luck.
  4. Those companies charge a lot of money for things you can do yourself. If your student loan is current it doesn't affect at all, if you are able to pay your bills on time you do not need to go to a credit repair agency if you have problems with credit cards I will recommend you use a credit counseling program ONLY for the credit cards with problems...good luck

  8. To Repair credit score Your credit score is based mostly on: 1. Length of credit history 2. Payment history. 3. Ratio of credit used to available credit. 4. Number of credit inquiries you authorized. If you cancel your card, you'll be hurting your credit ratio. (#3). You want to deliberately keep your oldest credit card open, even if you never use it. You want to always pay the minimums of each loan on time every month. You want to keep your available credit high, but actually only have balances equalinig 25% or less. You want to keep your credit inquiries to a minimum. Try for no more than 3 or 4 per year for any type of loans. You do these things and your credit score will quickly soar into the 700s. ------------------------------------------------- http://www.bestcreditrates.net
