- You can actually repair it yourself and save the money the agency is going to cost you. Last year my credit was so bad I could only get a payday loan. I did a lot of research on credit repair because I heard there were a lot of scams out there. I found a lot of scams but I also found several solutions for credit repair that actually work. I was able to increase my credit score by 200 point in less than 90 days. I knew if I could do it others could too. I decided to create a website that lists the products I reviewed so others would know which products are not scams. You can visit it at http://www.your-credit-solution.com/creditsolutions.htm . I hope you find your solution there. Good Luck!
- Nothing personal to the person who refered you to a website but i dont think any of those services really work. What you need to do is pay your bills ontime and write letters to the lenders that have marked you late to see if they will remove the marks. Good luck
- I did credit repair myself after my Bankruptcy. I trust that more than an agency because some of them are scams. If you do it yourself you will be much more in the know of your own finances and how things work, and there is a great level of pride in fixing your "boo-boos". I started by subscribing to a credit report web-site (do your research on which ones are best, I personally like Truecredit) then disputing things online or by mail. It is a lot of hard work but VERY rewarding when you see the changes. I took my score from 490 to 680 in a little under a year by being persistant and reading up. There is a GREAT website I really reccommend www.creditboards.com most everyone there is going through credit repair or are professionals and they are extremely helpful. I learned a lot. Remember the end result is worth the work, Good luck!!
- All I can say is if you can try and do it either by yourself or with a lawyer. Most of the debt relief or consolidation places actually charge for their services or you end up paying them in interest. The things that these places do are the same things that anyone can on their own. Keep calling and try to get interest rates down, fees taken off and stopped, and so on. Most companies will make you a deal and make payment arrangements because in the end they just want your money. Don't give up because the first time they may not be so quick to give you what you want but if you are persistent and you make them think that you are really hurting then they will usually try to work with you because they do not want to loose your business or their money. Also, if you have an attorney they are usually willing to make a deal because they don't want it to go to bankruptcy where they may get little or no money back, Good luck to you. Oh, and if you go with some place to help you and they say they don't charge a fee then read the fine print.
- Why pay an agency for what you can do yourself. First of all you are by law entitled to 1 free credit report per year, so conatct the three main agiencies to get a copy they are: Equixfax, Experian, and Trans Union After you get your copies verify all the information if there is inforamtion that is incorrect dispute it. Next if there are any outstanding debts that you can take care of pay them off, any collections or small debts and write a letter to the company who shows the negative information to have it removed, also write a letter to the credit agiency with proof you took care of the debt. Reduce any credit accounts you have down to one or two cards, once you have paid off the balances write a letter to have the accounts closed, and again to the credit agency. Three for at least six months do not apply for credit, becuase every time you do points are subtracted from your credit score. Also this will give time for prior applications to be removed. During this 6 moth period thry not using credit as much as possible, paying your debts on time, inckuding the credit card payments on the cards you plan to keep. Pay a little over the min payments evertime to reduce your intrest, also if you have a house payment or car payment do this. There is no real way to repair credit, you have the abilty to change your credit rating by learning how to manage your fincial situation but it will take some time. Most credit card compines, loans companies don't report good or bad credit on a daily basis usually every month or even every six months. Also I would recommend if in the divorce it is stated that your x is responsible for some of your debts I would write a letter and have them attach it to your credit files.
- ******** Hun I beleive you can do it yourself. Please don't sign up for any of the websites theses goons leave on here. It's just their way of marketing. Pay your bills on time and write to the 3 major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and Transunion)when they are paid off. Good luck!! ********
- Remember this when it comes to hiring a credit repair company A credit bureau will not remove accurate negative information from your credit report before the legal time period has expired. Therefore, do not believe anyone who claims they can get negative information removed from your credit report faster than is legally required. There are no "loopholes" or laws that credit repair companies can use to get correct information off your credit report. No credit repair company can do anything you can't do for yourself. It is impossible for a third party to make changes in your file if the facts have been correctly reported. There are individuals and companies that claim they can fix a bad credit file. This is not the case. If a file includes accurate, yet negative information about your credit history, this information cannot be changed. Information will only be changed when your file contains an inaccuracy. The only way to rectify a poor credit rating is to adopt sound credit practices for a period of time.
